ETA Squad Session May 2023 5 - Arch Combat Academy Wembley Park Taekwon-Do Martial Arts Carlo Martinelli

Arch Combat Academy – Wembley Park Taekwon-Do was one of the Taekwon-Do schools which joined the ETA Squad Session on 14th May at George Green’s School, London.

The session was very well attended and encompassed warm up, sparring drills, sparring, fundamentals, patterns, cool down and stretching.

Carlo Martinelli, Arch Combat Academy founder and chief instructor, delivered part of the session, focusing on the adult group for sparring and on Black Belt patterns.

Many thanks to the other schools taking part to the event, including: Docklands Taekwon-Do, Silverback Taekwon-Do and Greenwich Taekwon-Do.

It was nice to welcome guests from ProAction Martial Arts and Londinium Fighters also.

We can’t wait for the next ETA squad session, and we look forward to the next ETA event on 10th June, when we will be celebrating the 50th Taekwon-Do anniversary of GM Ellis.

European Taekwon-Do ITF Championships 2023

Arch Combat Academy founder and chief instructor Carlo Martinelli joined Master Nick Symonds, Mister Capaja, Mister England and Mister Dziubicki as one of the coaches of the ITF England National Team who took part to the European Taewkon-Do ITF Championship.

The competition took place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, on 25th-30th April 2023.

The standard of the competition was very high and the ITF England National Team achieved 2 Silver and 5 Bronze medals.

Congratulations to all the medal winners and athletes who took part to the event and thanks to all supporters and photographers.

This competition was also an excellent opportunity to strengthen the Team in preparation for the World Championships in Finland later this year.

ITF England National Team Squad Session

Date: Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th April 2023

Location: Westfield Academy, Watford

A two-day long ITF England National Team Squad Session took place in Watford, where the team preparing for the European Championships in Romania this month gathered for intensive training, refining their skills and strategies ahead of the competition.

Arch Combat Academy founder and chief instructor achieves VII Degree

IIC Israel 2023 & VII Dan grading 7 - Arch Combat Academy Wembley Park Taekwon-Do Martial Arts

We are excited to announce that during the 165th International Instructor Course (IIC) in Israel on 31st March-2nd April 2023, Carlo Martinelli was awarded his Master VII Degree in Taekwon-Do ITF.

The founder and chief instructor of Arch Combat Academy – Wembley Park Taekwon-Do was examined by GM Héctor Marano and GM Ung Kim Lan on Saturday 1st April. The results of the grading were announced on the following day, Sunday 2nd April.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout this amazing journey. Special thanks go to my brother Fabio Martinelli who initiated me to martial arts. To my first martial arts instructor Francesco Bariletti. To my first Taekwon-Do instructors, Gabriel Fiorentini and Alberto Flaim. And of course, to Master Tom Denis who has enabled me to confidently undertake this important step in my Taekwon-Do journey.

165th International Instructor Course (IIC) Israel

Arch Combat Academy – Wembley Park Taekwon-Do travelled to Ashdod, Israel, for the 165 International Instructor Course (IIC). The course took place between 31st March and 2nd April 2023, and was delivered by GM Héctor Marano, GM Ung Kim Lan and Master Jurek Jedut, and organised by the Israeli Taekwon-Do ITF Association leaded by Master Leo Oros Duek and Sbn Luis Sajnovetzky.

This is a very special IIC for local organisers since the same celebrates the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Association, and its growth in these 20 years. GM Paul Weiler, ITF President, was also present as a special guest.

The IIC was a great opportunity to expand our knowledge of Taekwon-Do as well as training with some of the very best in this martial art.

ETA Seminar, 25th March 2023

Arch Combat Academy – Wembley Park Taekwon-Do has joined the Spring ETA Seminar hosted by Master Denis, Founder and Chief Instructor of Docklands Taekwon-Do as well as ETA President.

The venue for the seminar was George Green’s School, London. This venue has an important emotional value to us as it was the first venue where I practiced Taekwon-Do as student in the UK, back in 2010.

Many thanks to GM Orello Ellis for the outstanding technical seminar provided to ETA instructors and students.

After the seminar, I had the privilege to be part of one of the ETA panels examining students going for their Dan grading. Congratulations to all who have successfully passed their grading and made another important step in their Taekwon-Do journeys.

Excellent performance of Arch Combat Academy – Wembley Park Taekwon-Do at The Warrior Open 2023 held in London on 11th March 2023.

The Warrior Open, hosted by Master Johann De Silva and Mister Tim Kool, is one of the key Taekwon-Do competitions in the UK, attracting world-class competitors form all over the UK and abroad.

A huge shout out for Jack Gould, who took part to The Warrior Open 2023 and, after defeating several strong opponents, won a well deserved Silver Medal in sparring.

ITF England National Team Squad Session 25 & 26/02/2023

The third ITF England National Team squad session in 2023 took place on the weekend of the 25th and 26th of February, this time at Westfield Academy in Watford. The European Championship in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, is now only 2 months away.

Katya Solovey Seminar

Today, 19th February 2023, we had the pleasure to take part to the Katya Solovey Seminar, hosted by AETA at the Tonbridge School Centre. Sabum Katya Solovey, multiple World and European Champion from Ukraine, delivered a great seminar accompanied by a translator, Sabum Viktoriia Sokolovska.

This was an incredible opportunity to train with one of the most successful competitors in ITF history. The session focused on conditioning and sparring training for competition.
